EBOOK
Ebooks are becoming
a fantastic method
of promoting
websites and
retaining visitors
and Michael Southon
discusses the pros
and cons of
publishing ebooks
using the most
popular formats.
E-books are books,
merely with a
different form. The
electronic book is
the latest example
of how HTML
continues to win out
over competing,
often non
standardized,
format. E-books
aren’t websites, but
ebooks are
distributed
electronically. Now
the dominant ebook
format is XHTML
ebook is also
available in the
form of doc file
doc, is a generic
name for a type of
text document format
usable by nearly all
PDA platforms. Note
that this format is
not the same as the
.doc filename
extension usually
given to Microsoft
Word document
files.generally we
can see ebook found
in the format of
.exe files or .pdf
files.
pdf, which stands
for Portable
Document Format, is
the file extension
for files created
with Adobe Acrobat
Exe, which stands
for ‘executable’, is
the extension for
files created by
eBook compilers.exe
is the common
filename extention
denoting an
executable file (a
program) in the, Dos
,OpenVMS,Microsoft
Windows,Sybians, and
OS/2 operating
systems. Besides the
executable program,
many EXE files
contain other
components called
resource, such as
bitmaps and icons
which the executable
program may use for
its graphical user
interface
Pdf is widely
considered to be the
‘industry standard’
for eBook
publishing, and for
good reason Pdf
documents can easily
be viewed and
printed by users on
a variety of
computer platform ,
they are very common
on the World Wide
Web. The
specification of the
format is available
without charge from
Adobe.
